The Role

The successful candidate will join the Service team based at our head office near Peterborough, as an electrical specialist you will be responsible for all aspects of electrical hoist preparation and repair, working in conjunction with mechanical service technicians to assemble, service, test, and repair machinery in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications, your duties will include the following:
• Carry out repairs, maintenance, and electrical testing on our fleet of construction hoists.
• Repair / rewire 3 phase control panels to manufacturers drawings and specification.
• Test 3 phase motors and control gear and record insulation and resistance readings.
• Carry out electrical preparation and pre-delivery inspection of hoists as required.
• Liaise with purchasing to maintain stock levels.
• Rewiring switches, relays, sensors etc.
• Work with manufacturer’s assistance to program and fault find PLC’s and 3 phase inverters.
• Perform Insulation and resistance testing.
• PAT Testing.
• Work safely at height.
• Ensure the health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Complete relevant paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
• Wear and maintain provided PPE at all times.
• Use manufacturers drawings to assist in fault finding.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced Electrician with a desire to develop your skills and advance your career, you should be able to demonstrate:
• Previous experience in industrial electrics including inverters and PLC’s.
• Ideally trained to NVQ level 3 in electrical installations and maintenance (desirable).
• Mechanical / plant fitting experience (desirable).
• Access hire industry experience – Construction Hoists, Cranes, MCWP’s, MEWP’s or similar (desirable).
• Full and clean driving license.
• Be approachable and supportive to other team members and customers.
• Ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines.
• Excellent numeracy & literacy and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
